HÜTT Structure

Only environmentally friendly materials are used in the construction of our HÜTT’s — this is mainly wood of different species, dried and processed for long-term use.

External walls

External walls are obviously the core element of the architecture of our HÜTT. Therefore, the walls are given special attention. The materials and color of the walls give the house its main look and originality. In addition, the walls are the main protective element from the external environment.

HÜTT has set itself the challenge of combining the old, proven heritage of wooden built, with modern developments in housing construction to achieve greater levels of comfort and to meet the stringent requirements for safety, environmental friendliness, mobility, and more.

Structurally, the walls and the typical rounded roof have a sandwich structure consisting of several different layers. Exterior wooden cladding prevents roofs and walls from heating up in hot summers, keeping the inside of the house cool. Modern insulation helps the HÜTT in maintaining a pleasant temperature in winter. The waterproof membrane protects the house from moisture while maintaining a comfortable microclimate inside the house.

The walls and ceiling are further coated with high-quality larch. Larch is a beautiful, strong and resistant type of wood. Did you know that Venice was built on piles of larch 1600 years ago?

For exterior finishes, HÜTT applies not only time-tested solutions, but also the most advanced scientific developments. We use Thermowood – thermally modified. A such it is resistant to decay, geometrically stable and durable. Its specific qualities and advantages make it the obvious choice for our construction:

Internal walls

The interior walls are finished with specially profiled Northern pine planks. Optionally, other types of wood can be used depending on the preferences of the customer.

The floor, walls and ceiling have a sandwich construction — an outer layer of larch or Thermowood planks, a moisture-proof membrane, insulation, and an internal decorative layer of planks made of fir-tree or other wood species.

This solution makes it possible to achieve a heat transfer resistance of the enclosing structure of R=1.76 m2 oC/W. It allows you to live comfortably inside with outside temperatures ranging from -20 to +40 °C.

One of the prominent features of our HÜTT’s are its large panoramic doors and multitude of windows, which almost literally let the outside in! The double-glazed windows are filled with an inert gas, which improves heat-saving and sound-proofing properties and prevents the penetration of cold. Windows open horizontally and vertically. Glass skylights in the roof create additional light and the opportunity to stargaze!
